Word Now Breaking Heaven’s Silence

O come desire of nations, bind

In one the hearts of all mankind

Bid Thou our sad divisions cease

And be Thyself our Prince of Peace

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel

Shall come to thee O Israel

The Church of the Malcontent wants to wish all of its faithful readers (and everyone else who comes along) a most wonderful Christmas. Join with the Church worldwide in celebrating the awesomely absurd en-fleshing of the Son of God. As another hymn so aptly puts it:

Down in a lowly manger

The humble Christ was born

And God sent us salvation

That blessed Christmas morn!

But we’re all probably more familiar with the refrain of that sacred song, and it’s both my prayer and challenge to you on Christmas:

Go! Tell it on the mountain!

Over the hills and everywhere!

Go! Tell it on the mountain!

That Jesus Christ is born!

Merry Christmas!

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those who he favors!” (Luke 2:14)
